I had never been one to hope for the future, but being at a wedding with three men who cared for me made me start thinking it might be possible.

Did that mean I was okay with having tentacles? No, not in the slightest, but if all my efforts were exhausted trying to save myself from a life trapped in their clutches, I knew I'd have people at my side to give me the best life possible

Lucas had offered to buy an island.

The love between the bride and groom was contagious as we watched them dance their first dance as husband and wife. I didn't know them, but I could tell a lot from the way they interacted with each other. Small touches, hushed whispers in each other's ears, giggles that only they knew the meaning of.

Other couples took to the floor, and I glanced over at my dancing partner options. I'd learned a little from my sister-in-law, Riley, and brother-in-law, Morgan, who occasionally did ballroom competitions, even though I often felt like I had two left feet.

Jonah was the first to figure out why I was looking at them and shook his head. "If you value your toes, don't look at me."

The song switched to something a little faster-paced, and even more people got up to dance. They were doing some dance that walked around the floor. I wanted to say it was the country two-step, but I couldn't remember the names of the western dances.

Trace stood and offered me his elbow. "Let's dance, pretty lady," he said in a very thick country drawl.

"Next dance is mine." Lucas turned to Jonah. "Unless you let me take you for a spin."

Jonah cracked a smile for the first time since we'd come out of the house for the wedding. He was struggling being around all the noise and smells, plus, he didn't like people to get anywhere near me, even if they were just passing by.

"You can dance with us too." Trace very quickly glanced over at his parents who were watching us—they had been since all four of us came out of the house together. "It will definitely piss off my dad."

Lucas looked over at Jonah. "You going to be all right here by yourself?"

Jonah rolled his eyes. "I'm sure I'll survive. Besides, I enjoy watching."

The comment was heavily suggestive, and my face got hot. I blushed more around these guys than I think I'd blushed the rest of my entire life.

Lucas followed us out to the dance floor, and we stopped on the edge as people danced past us. It was a walking dance that moved in a circle, so we were going to have to get our act together fast so we didn't get run over.

Trace took my right hand in his left and Lucas moved behind me, putting his right hand over mine. "The beat is quick, quick, slow… slow… we'll just keep things simple. The song is almost over anyway."

I could feel a lot of eyes on us as the three of us started to dance.
